Louisville, TN Hybrid Crawl Space Encapsulation System FAQs
The town of Louisville is located in Blount County, Tennessee along Fort Loudon Lake and the Tennessee River. It was first incorporated in 1841; however, at some point in time, it lost its status as a town and did not become a town again until 1993. The community grew quickly early on thanks to its position on the Tennessee River. This allowed access to ship materials by ferry to other areas along the river. When the railroad was laid in Louisville in the 1890s, the community continued to grow as marble from nearby mines was shipped by ferry to the railroad.
When Fort Loudon Dam was finally constructed in 1943 by TVA, nearly 70 percent of Louisville was flooded over a period of two weeks as the river began to rise. Many homes and businesses were forced to relocate. However, this allowed a push for recreational activities on the new lake.
Louisville Point Park is on 16 acres of land and offers picnic areas, a boat ramp, swimming areas, a playground, sand volleyball, and a large pavilion. You can also visit Poland Creek Campground and Recreational area for both tent and RV camping on the lake. Henry Beal Park features a loop trail that runs along a cove at Fort Loudoun Lake and sheltered picnic areas.
Louisville hosts an annual Octoberfest celebration with a BBQ competition, cake walks, local craftsmen, and much more.
